A short history of Rony Medina.
I was born on an island in the Atlantic Ocean where it is summer time all year around and where it is impossible to be indifferent to light, colour, contrast and where I developed a relationship with nature that made me interested in it since an early age.
Volcanic landscapes that display multiple and unique variations of colour, the Ocean which you cannot escape as it is everywhere.
I finished my formal Classical Fine Art education at the University. There I learnt to love and respect the materials, media and visual communication laws. This passion took me on further to embrace other disciplines, such as Anthropology, Education Studies, History and Archeology amongst others.
I also decided to remain in education, joining the research PhD work on Art Materials, taking me into the world of Metallurgic Archeology and Pigments research. Following this I had the opportunity to join the Antwerpen Royal Fine Arts Academie as a PhD student.
I have now been resident in the UK for the last 17 years, and during this time I have dedicated my professional time teaching art and sharing my love for artistic expression in the education system.
